Support in Action
Events bring the community together to connect with nature, learn about our work, and create meaningful opportunities for individuals, organizations, and corporate partners to invest in and support our impact.
Keep The Broad Creek Clean Water Festival
The annual “Keep the Broad Creek Clean” Water Festival brings locals and visitors together each summer to celebrate our island’s natural beauty and shared commitment to protecting it. More than 20 local environmental organizations offer hands-on and engaging activities that help children and families learn about protecting our local waterways.
Lowcountry PaddleFest presented by OluKai
The Lowcountry PaddleFest presented by OluKai is a paddle and community event held on Hilton Head Island. See why Hilton Head Island was voted the best island in America...it is a paddler's paradise! Sprint races, distance events and beach technical races...SUP, surfski and OC boats invited.
*All proceeds support The Outside Foundation programs.
Page Island Oyster Roast Annual Fundraiser
Our annual fundraiser gathers friends for a memorable afternoon
on private Page Island celebrating Lowcountry fare while raising critical support for our programs.
#EARTHDAYHHI
This island-wide community call-to-action brings residents and visitors together to celebrate Earth Day by removing trash from across Hilton Head Island’s beaches, parks, and waterways. Litter breaks down in our creeks, on our beaches, and in the salt marsh, threatening the island’s flora and fauna.
As part of the 2026 Earth Week “Our Power, Our Planet” campaign, 576 volunteers representing 32 groups came together to remove 1,788 pounds of trash.
#EARTHDAYHHI
Every April we invite volunteers of all ages, as well as local businesses, organizations, and oceanfront hotels to join in for this island-wide call to action for a litter sweep all 12 miles of our beaches and other natural spaces.
Oyster Shell Bagging
Join the Outside Foundation to bag collected oyster shells! These bags will be used to build new oyster reefs. These reefs are crucial to preventing erosion, keeping our waters clean and supporting our fisheries. Please wear outdoor "work clothes," close-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. Gloves are provided. Oyster shell bagging is a moderate activity (think yard work!) where you will bend, left, and carry up to 30 pounds of shell. Children 10 and up are welcome with adult supervision.
Page Island Oyster Roast Fundraiser
Spend an afternoon on the private Page Islands for a good cause! This fundraiser event includes an authentic oyster roast and low country boil (non-seafood options available), local spirits and brew, live music, and a silent auction. All inclusive!
“Keep the Broad Creek Clean” Water Festival
Our annual water festival is held each July. We invite families to enjoy an afternoon of interactive displays to learn about how individual actions can help keep our local waterways clean!
Oyster Shell Bagging
Join The Outside Foundation for an oyster shell bagging volunteer day and help protect our local waterways! This hands-on, moderate outdoor activity (think yard work) involves bending, lifting, and carrying up to 30 pounds of shell as we prepare recycled oyster shell for future reef restoration projects. Your time and energy directly support healthier habitat, improved water quality, and a more resilient Lowcountry ecosystem.
