A world where children of all ages are equipped with the knowledge and passion to explore, appreciate, and protect the great outdoors.

About Us

The Outside Foundation was founded in 2014 with a mission to get kids outside and to preserve and protect our local environment.

With the goal of fostering environmental stewardship, our programs focus on access, education, engagement, and empowerment. We engage students, volunteers, and visitors in hands-on activities such as kayaking the marshes, oyster shell bagging, reef building, and waterway cleanups.

These experiences enable participants of all ages to get involved and make an immediate impact. They also foster a lasting connection to the natural environment that supports the long-term health of the Lowcountry.

Numbers reflect our reach. Stories reveal the human impact.
