Programs
Programs are at the core of what The Outside Foundation does. These initiatives are the focus of our activity and are made possible through funding and donations from our supporters.
Kids in Kayaks

Kids in Kayaks in a field trip for 7th grade Beaufort County Students. The Science-Based learning trip includes a half day of kayaking and a half day of hands-on dock-side experiments and activities. Students learn about the interconnected species of the salt marsh and how they work together to maintain a healthy eco-system.
The Outside Foundation organizes this program including location sourcing, curriculum, and staffing - as well as promoting and recruiting new schools to participate. An ongoing Scholarship Fund is maintained by The Foundation to cover the cost of the field trip for any students that can't afford it.
In addition to Kids in Kayaks, The Outside Foundation organizes a Learn to Paddle Program - an ongoing after-school program for local teens looking to gain skills in kayaking.
