Patagonia Donates to The Outside Foundation
Monday, July 7th, 2014 (Hilton Head, SC) – On Friday June 27th, a check in the amount of $1,500 was presented to the Outside Foundation from Patagonia. The funds were distributed as part of Patagonia’s Environmental Grants Program. The funds are earmarked for the Outside Foundation’s Shelter Cove Marina Recycling Program, which is charged with installing recycling receptacles and ensuring their collection and recycling. The Recycling Program is executed in tandem with local company, I2 Recycling.
The Outside Foundation is a local non-profit dedicated to getting kids outside and protecting our local environment. The guiding values and principles of The Outside Foundation are consistent with those of its founding company, Outside Hilton Head: to provide outdoor experiences that will have a positive impact on people by creating awareness, expanding knowledge and developing a responsible understanding of nature and the environment. Ongoing projects of the Foundation include trash clean-ups by kayak, donation programs and the Kids in Kayaks program, which aims to get every 7th grader in Beaufort County out kayaking.
